Liberal convention, aside from who cares...
This was taken directly from the conservative.ca website. They can put it more succinctly than I ever could. Remember; " Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me! "
Here are some of the issues the Liberals should be talking about:
After admitting they needed to clean up in Party in the wake of their electoral defeat, why aren’t the Liberals talking about getting the Liberal-dominated Senate to support the Federal Accountability Act?
According to a media report, accountability was not on the agenda for any of the leadership candidates. In fact, top contender Gerard Kennedy’s entire 10,000 word platform does not even mention ethics.
The leadership candidates all profess to care about the environment. So, why are they refusing to acknowledge their party’s horrendous record – a 30% increase in greenhouse gas emissions and a precipitous decline in Canadian air quality?
Even long-time Liberal Thomas Axworthy has admitted the Liberals need a little less talk and a lot more action when it comes to the environment -- “vision without implementation equals hypocrisy”. (source: Toronto Star, Aug 28th, 2006)
Liberals claim they want to help ordinary Canadians. So why did the Liberals vote against every single tax relief measure delivered by Canada’s New Government, including the GST cut, tax cuts for students and working Canadians and income splitting for pensioners?
The Liberals committed the Canadian Forces to their present mission in Afghanistan. So, why have the Liberals turned their back on our troops with several of the leadership candidates openly advocating a shameful retreat and abandonment of the Afghan people and our NATO allies?
For shame. Stop the swagger, you just don't get it, do you?
